Story

Chris Nicoll - Director
Compass of Truth Institute
Welcome to the Compass of Truth Institute, a Christ-centered public policy research institution based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Founded by Christopher Nicoll, the Institute is driven by a Christ-inspired vision to redirect America’s focus to the core values of the Founding Fathers, including freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the right to bear arms—principles enshrined in the Constitution and rooted in the faith and intent of our nation’s founders. Guided by faith and a commitment to truth, the Institute seeks to shape policies that honor freedom, democracy, and the unalienable rights endowed by God.

The Compass of Truth Institute is dedicated to fulfilling its mission, inspired by Psalm 25:5: “Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior.” We develop innovative policy solutions, particularly in education, to ensure American citizens’ rights are protected. Our purpose is to promote intellectual diversity, combat biases in public education, foster critical thinking, and restore eroded rights. A key goal of the Institute is advancing the Equal Time in Education Act, which aims to provide students with balanced perspectives on politically charged issues, reflecting the founders’ vision of a just and free society.

Our Team.
At Compass of Truth Institute, our team is a dynamic blend of faith-driven thinkers and policy innovators, united by a shared mission to restore America’s founding principles from a Christian world view. Led by Founder Christopher Nicoll, we embrace a culture of bold truth-seeking. This Page is under construction as we develop the institute and begin building our team. If you would like to apply for a COT volunteer fellowship please contact us.

Our Core Beliefs
We believe that the Word of God, as revealed in the Bible, is our ultimate Compass of Truth, guiding our faith, actions, and understanding of the world. The Scriptures, divinely inspired and authoritative, serve as the foundation for all truth, wisdom, and moral direction. We hold fast to the teachings of the Bible as the infallible and unchanging standard for life, doctrine, and salvation.

-
The Bible as Truth: The Holy Bible, comprising the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, without error, and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:105).
-
God’s Sovereignty: We worship one true God, eternal and unchanging, who exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and is the Creator and Sustainer of all things (Isaiah 44:6 & 45:5; Matthew 28:19).
-
Salvation through Christ: Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the only way to salvation. Through His death and resurrection, He offers forgiveness of sins and eternal life to all who believe in Him (John 3:16 &14:6; Acts 4:12).
-
Guidance by the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit indwells believers, empowering them to live godly lives, discern truth, and fulfill God’s purposes (Acts 4:31; Galatians 5:22-23).
-
Restoration of Our Land: We believe that by turning to God’s Word and seeking His will through repentance and obedience, our nation can be restored and healed, as promised in Scripture (2 Chronicles 7:14). We are committed to praying and working for the renewal of our land according to biblical principles of justice, righteousness, and love.
-
Living by Faith: We are called to live in obedience to God’s Word, trusting in His promises, seeking His guidance, and reflecting His love and truth in all we do (Psalm 25:5; Hebrews 11:6).
-

Our commitment is to follow this Compass of Truth, allowing the Word of God to shape our beliefs, decisions, policy development and mission as we seek to honor Him in all things, including the restoration and healing of our nation.
